- potatoes - 3.31 lb (1.5 kg)
- herring - as desired, pre - marinated
- onions - 1 large red head
- salt - to taste
- vinegar - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml)
- oil - 1/5 cup (70 ml)
- allspice - 1 grain
- cloves - 1 grain
- fennel - a few sprigs
Cook the potatoes, peel and cut them into circles. Using cookie forms, cut them into interesting shapes to your liking.
Cut the herring into pieces, cut the red onion into very thin slices, which are then separated.
The vinegar and oil are beaten with the powdered allspice and cloves. Pour dressing over everything mixed in the bowl.
Optionally, add salt and the salad is served in bowls, decorated with sprigs of dill.
